>From my example that we discussed in the WG/webex today:
OMPI has matching network interface information that seems like it would be useful to be able to convey to a tool. That is, network interface A in process X matches network interface B in process Y (i.e., MPI sends from process X/interface A to process Y/interface B).
If OMPI can expose this semantic information to you, assumedly a tool can use that information somehow, e.g., at a network level (e.g., how many bytes/packets/whatevers were sent on the network between process X and Y).
Sidenote: Don't forget that the network path from interface A to interface B may not be the same as the network path from interface B to interface A.
How can I use MPI_T to expose this information to tools?
