HI Dan,

I’m in a mess of travel today and would not be able to call in even it it wasn’t
a US holiday.

We can work on the proposal content via mail list and github this week.

Howard

Subject: [mpiwg-sessions] Next meeting - today - 1pm Eastern US time

Hi all,

The next meeting for the Sessions WG is scheduled for today at 1pm Eastern US time.

The connection details for the call can be found here:
http://mpi-forum.epcc.ed.ac.uk/mpiwg-sessions.php

As it is a US holiday today, I am not expecting (m)any people to join - if you have something to discuss, let me know in the next couple of hours and I will dial in later.

We are still targeting a virtual meeting on 30th Jan, which will present an updated version of the main sessions proposal to the whole Forum.

Please send updates via email (to me or to this list), when you have time.

The wiki for the working group, including documentation about Sessions and minutes of previous meetings is here:

We have several current topics.

1) Preparation for the virtual meeting on Wednesday 9th Jan, which will cover “the rest” of the Sessions proposal.
https://github.com/mpiwg-sessions/sessions-issues/issues/4

2) Changes for the main part of the core sessions proposal (following successful reading at Dec 2018 meeting):
https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/103
https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-standard/pull/55

3) Implementation of Sessions
a) As a library on top of MPI-3.1 using connect/accept:
https://github.com/hpc/mpi_sessions_code_sandbox<https://bitbucket.org/howard_pritchard/mpi_sessions_code_sandbox/commits/all>
b) Directly on top of PMIx, using PMIx groups, in Open MPI:

Cheers,
Dan.
