Hi Howard, et al,

We now have 3 issues and 3 pull requests in the canonical mpi-forum git repo to match the 3 branches in our mpiwg-sessions git repo.

For the CreateCommFromGroup-NoParentComm branch, we have:
Issue #93: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/93
PR #44: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-standard/pull/44

For the CreateFileFromGroup-NoParentFile branch, we have:
Issue #94: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/94
PR #45: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-standard/pull/45

For the CreateWinFromGroup-NoParentWin branch, we have:
Issue #95: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/95
PR #46: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-standard/pull/46

These all need various important administrative tweaks before announcement to the Forum email list.

In particular, they all need change log entries (which I will do after lunch). I will build and attach the pdf documents for each, once I have added its change log entry.

** The WG should also actually do the checks mentioned on the checklist for each pull request before checking each box. **

Cheers,
Dan.

Hi Howard,

Thanks for letting me know. I’m still in catch-up mode after a week’s holiday.

I’ve warned Martin that we are aiming for a reading of some/all of the “create from group” functionality. We’ll need some Github fiddle-aboutery before we can announce the reading - I’ll figure that out tomorrow.

I’m going to go ahead and ask Martin for some plenary time to present the current status of this effort, a formal reading for what we have so far, and some working group time to push further forward.

I’m going to cancel the telecon today (unless someone objects in the next hour or so) - but lets make progress via email/Github.

Cheers,
Dan.

Hi Folks,

I have a conflict that I can’t get out of.

If we want to have an initial reading of the comm-from-group changes
at the next Forum, we need to announce the desire to do this by 5/28 .
I’d like to try and do this.

Howard
