Hi all,

I want to remind folks to please reply to this email with your preferences. Right now, I have an even split of 1s (Sessions folks) and 2s (FT folks). Logistically, it would probably be simpler to do 1 so we don’t have to shuffle between topics, so that would be my preference, but please indicate your's by replying. I’ll work with the WG leaders on Wednesday to set up whatever we pick.

In the recent plenary discussion in the MPI Forum about future fault tolerance proposals, it became clear that our two working groups needed to coordinate some of our work to avoid duplication and promote interoperability. In the FTWG today, we discussed this a little more with Dan “representing” the Sessions WG. At this point, it probably makes sense to try to find a few times over the next few months where we can all meet together to cover topics that our two groups are exploring. I think we have three options to do this:

1. The FTWG meets every other week. On weeks where the FTWG isn’t meeting anyway, we could have a joint meeting during the Sessions WG time slot (12pm US Central I think). The FTWG met this week so this would theoretically start next week (or two weeks after that).

2. Merge the meeting time slots and share the middle hour. The FTWG meets in the hour before the Sessions WG. So we could have the middle hour (11:30am - 12:30pm US Central time) be common time every other week to discuss common items while leaving time for the two WGs during their normal time slots. This would involve some Zoom link merging, but we could figure that out.

3. Pick a completely different time to meet in addition to our existing WG times.

So as an action item for each person who is interested in participating here are two things to do:

While the poll is anchored to this week, the times are for a recurring meeting every other week, so ignore any one-off conflicts you have this week.
