This is a pretty trivial issue (famous last words), and I have no idea about the current timeline, but it would be nice if this issue could make it into MPI-4.1.
Either Howard Pritchard or Joseph Schuchart will read the following at the next meeting where this can be scheduled (this is clearly too late for the Feb 28 meeting, so please add this to the 23 May meeting. Thanks):
