Rejected.

SYNC MEMORY exists in Fortran 2008 and will remain there for use with 
coarrays.

ASYNCHRONOUS exists in Fortran 2003 and will remain there for use with Fortran 
(intrinsic) async I/O.

The two don't interact with each other (this is the rejection part).
