<div dir="ltr">Hi Benson,<br><div><br></div><div>These are all good suggestions. My concern is that this is a relatively small group, and dividing our attention across several different platforms could be counterproductive. Presently we have email, slack, github, and regular meetings. If we can get the engagement that we're looking for without adding another platform, I think I would prefer to try that first, even if it's not perfect. This was the rationale for enabling GitHub discussions, but we don't seem to be using them yet. Would be interested to hear from you and others if you feel that we're missing something that could significantly boost productivity or engagement.</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div> ~Jim.</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Fri, Feb 11, 2022 at 2:37 AM Benson Muite via mpiwg-hybridpm <<a href="mailto:mpiwg-hybridpm@lists.mpi-forum.org">mpiwg-hybridpm@lists.mpi-forum.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">

<div>Hi Jim,</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Thanks for setting this up and
reposting slides, this enables efficient tracking of discussions
without needing to watch many long recordings to find the relevant
snippet of information from a working group session. Would you
consider trying out software such as:</div>
<div>Discourse - <a href="https://www.discourse.org/" target="_blank">https://www.discourse.org/</a>
<br>
Loomio - <a href="https://www.loomio.com/" target="_blank">https://www.loomio.com/</a>
<br>
Decidim - <a href="https://decidim.org" target="_blank">https://decidim.org</a>
<br>
</div>
<div>Discussions really ties in to just one
platform and may not be helpful for straw polls. If so, would be
happy to run one of these on a cloud provider. These also have
filtered mailing list modes, and allow grouping of discussions by
topic. Other tools such as Redmine or Jira could also help
structure technical discussions better and have good Git
integration.<br>
</div>

<div>Regards,</div>

<div>You might have received an announcement that I enabled
discussions on GitHub. I'm hopeful that this will give us an
online forum that works a little better for discussion than
issues, which can become hard to follow when there is a lot of
discussion. Please feel free to try it out: <a href="https://github.com/mpiwg-hybrid/hybrid-issues/discussions" target="_blank">https://github.com/mpiwg-hybrid/hybrid-issues/discussions</a></div>
