Hi all -

Sorry about the mail to everyone, but at the meeting this week, we had a
number of discussions about potential topics for the next MPI release.
Two discussions resulted in working groups growing / reactivating to take
on new topics. If you're interested in either topic, please consider
joining the relevant working group and looking at the list archives to
find out about the next telecom.

First, the hybrid working group is going to look at a number of issues
regarding threads and MPI. This includes issues with generalized
requests, initialization, and thread query. Those interested should
definitely look at the mailing archives (or subscribe in the short term),
as there is homework for the next call.

Second, the point-to-point working group is reforming itself (after a very
long idle period) to look at channel semantics, streaming compute /
communicate models, and receive-and-modify models. Again, there is some
homework / background reading for the next call.

Thanks,

Brian
