One item I'd like to discuss is Alexander's proposal -- he
specifically stated that it was for theoretical link compatibility.
Can we review the goals for this specific promise / level of ABI on
the call? (I suspect it can be discussed far quicker on the teleconf
than iterating through a dozen e-mails).
